NAEP Results

I enjoyed working on this paper. The t-tests have become like second nature anymore. The assignment also refreshed me on the data analysis side of the course. It was also great to see how the states all compared to one another in relation to gender. I felt as though it was something I could relate to. My paper can be found NAEP NCES <---HERE in my Google Docs.

My Personality Test

Below is a screenshot of the results from my personality test. This was a lengthy test and really got me thinking.

YouTube Video

Above is my video I used from YouTube. I downloaded RealPlayer to do the activity. Harrison County schools restrict YouTube videos so this comes in handy. It allows me to download a video to RealPlayer and view it with no restrictions. Even though there are some nasty videos on YouTube there are also some educational ones as well. My RealPlayer actually has a nice feature and sends me a notification if it feels there is downloadable content on the webpage I am on. I have a YouTube account but rarely use it. If I want to watch a music video I have been using Vevo but can also download those music videos into my RealPlayer and can watch them at anytime without having to access the Internet. There was also a feature on my RealPlayer that allows me to convert the video to my iPod, iPhone or my iPad. Very nice system :)

d.

APA Research Paper

Writing this paper has brought back many memories of my undergraduate degree. In many of my English classes we wrote papers not only in MLA format but also in APA style. The OWL AT PURDUE site was a staple to get me through the paper!! You can find my completed APA Research Paper --> APA PAPER. It took me a good while to complete the paper. Mostly because APA style is very specific and must be exact. Inputing numbers and certain citations within the paper are challenging. I was appreciative in the extra amount of time that we were given. It also helps to talk with classmates and share each others thoughts and ideas. It was also nice to see how data can be taken from the Excel format and placed into a narrative format. This was a great learning experience :)

Data Research

This assignment was rather complicated and time consuming. I believe the statement, "Practice makes perfect," and this proved true by doing this assignment. The more I worked with the ttests the better I got at them. It also helped me to talk myself through it. While doing the assignment I had so many different pages opened in my browser so I could re-watch the screencast and also to use the scientific notation website. My data analysis chart can be found ---> HERE  Excel has never been a good program for me. I have had little to no experience with Excel. Typically if I need to make a table to sort data, I insert a table in Word. This was definitely challenging for me but I felt as though I learned a lot from it :)

Data Analysis Continued..

As I continue to work on my information, I am continuously learning more about Excel. I just put all my numbered information in ascending order so it would be easier to read. During the online chat, I learned even more about Excel and how to work the Descriptive Statistics tool located in the Data Analysis. I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with everyone and gained a good bit of information about the assignment.
